Networking
Before we can start, it’s probably important to figure out how the network should look like. Thoughts about how to do this was discussed in approach-to-networking.
In my case, I’m using 172.16.0.0/12 for the San Jose Datacenter. I’m a tad lazy and in this case, I’m going to partition the SJC01 network into the following:
| Name | VLAN | Network |
|---|---|---|
| 1850 | 172.18.50.0/24 | |
| 1851 | 172.18.51.0/24 | |
| 1860 | 172.18.60.0/24 | |
| 1861 | 172.18.61.0/24 |
Note how I took the VLAN, and used the network segment as the VLAN. For example 172.18.50.0/24 has VLAN 1850, 172.18.51.0/24 has the VLAN 1851.
